Publishing with us

We help other independent authors wanting to publish under Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing, LLC, to become published by using a more traditional way. We will work with them to publish their book with editing, cover design, and every step of the way until they consent to publish their work.

Royalties

For the first book, Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing will only take 15% for its service. For every book after that, Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing will take 30%, while most big publishing houses take an average of 70 to 80%.

Editorial standards

All books and stories published under Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing will not contain what we consider foul language, meaning no cursing or “dirty words,” and no relation to any of it in character thoughts or actions. All will be removed during editing and submitted to the author for approval before publishing.

All books and stories published under Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing will contain no sexual themes or content of any kind. That includes the thought that something of the sort has actually happened and is not described.

It also includes any LGBT+ content, which will be taken out during the editing process. It will not contain any WOKE or agenda-based themes. All books and stories will be turned away if these things are found within the pages. However, it will be permitted to have a character have a belief of this way of life, but these will not be promoted through Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing.

Faith and content

Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing, LLC, is a Christian-based believing company. Any religion can be used in the book or stories, but not promoted. Most books and stories, though not directly taken from the Bible, will have Biblical content. They will be written so any member can read the book and not feel put out by it. If the Bible is used, then we only use the King James Version.

AI, illustration and editing

Our AI usage comes down to helping with covers and pictures, always approved by the author, and a light form of editing, also approved by the author. Always keep an original copy of your work. Once we edit, we send it to the author to read for approval of changes. We do have human illustrators we can use for children’s books and covers. If necessary, we will provide human editors. We are trying to keep our cost down to help the author maintain the higher profit percentage.

Distribution and author copies

Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing uses other distributors and printers, and it can take an average of three months to see profit from a single book. Online sales are mostly print on demand, but at times we do order a supply of books when necessary. Authors will be given author copies for free. If an author wants to order a box of books to distribute themselves, they will be quoted the discount rate provided by the printer. No profit will be made from an author who orders from us.

Additional editions

Strangers and Pilgrims Publishing also has the rights to translate and/or publish additional editions of the book or story, giving the same profit percentage as stated above. Other editions may include a second edition, series edition, or a collection.
